A. T. Greene Excavation was established
in 1996 by Alan Greene spawned as a way to support his fire fighting habit as well as his love of heavy equipment
and snowplowing. Alan grew up in Sebago on Greene Maple Farm, a small 6 generation farm that specialized in maple
syrup as well as a place known for providing a home to wayward rusty iron, farm equipment and unique antique oddities.
Alan's first excavation job, aside from running farm equipment on the farm, was in high school when he worked as a laborer/backhoe operator with The Town of Sebago Public Works Department on nights and weekends. From there he worked excavation primarily as a laborer and truck driver through college until hired as a professional fire fighter for The City of Portland in 1993. Alan continued to work part-time in excavation until he started his own business. In 2002 Alan was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in The Portland Fire Department and is currently assigned to Engine 11 on Ocean Avenue. Alan, his wife Valerie and their 7 year old son Phillip live in Sebago just a few miles from where he grew up. |
